I was lucky enough to receive this scholarship in 2011, and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for any qualitative researcher and I strongly recommend you apply. I’m more than happy to chat to anyone who has questions about the application process or QRCA.
The Qualitative Research Consultants Association, (QRCA), offers two Global Outreach Scholarships to qualitative researchers residing outside the US, UK and Canada. The Foundation Scholarship is awarded to a qualitative researcher who is relatively new to qualitative research, but is already establishing a career path in this field. For instance, they should have developed some experience of moderating group discussions and IDI’s and of analyzing the results. The Advanced Scholarship is intended for a qualitative researcher who is already well established in their career, but wants to expand and deepen their knowledge of methods and techniques, and to maximize the value of the projects that they plan and execute for their clients.
Each QRCA Global Outreach Scholarship offers the recipient:
- free membership of QRCA (provided they are not already a member) for the remainder of the 2012 membership year after the Scholarship is awarded;
- free conference registration (valued at up to US$1,425); and
- up to $1,000 USD for travel expenses to attend the QRCA Annual Conference in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, from 3-5 October 2012.
Full information is available on QRCA’s website at www.qrca.org, the information can be accessed directly here.
